Yes, once you graduate from POS Basic Series, you can continue with our Advance Series. Advanced Series, formerly Dentofacial Series, continues to build off the Comprehensive Orthodontics series and will expand students’ treatment options and knowledge into a realm that is at the cutting edge of dentistry. This knowledge will help you to make a noticeable impact on your patients’ lives. With new topics, including Adult Orthodontics and Implantology & Orthodontics, you will understand how to provide a more complete treatment plan and make many previously difficult cases much easier to treat. These tools will improve your case acceptance and referrals since you are dramatically improving patients’ care. Students must be a graduate of the Comprehensive Orthodontics series. However, there are no case prerequisites or exams to study at this level.

Absolutely! POS offers several styles of case support. QUICK Instructor Case Check (FREE!): Bring any case records to your seminar and meet with your instructor during break. Here you can discuss with the instructor if this may be a good case to start with your training level, so you can feel confident to take the next step. This service is also available via Zoom, or you can submit your case to the instructor via Smilestream. Case Consulting Service: Case Consulting is an optional extracurricular service provided by the instructors outside of class hours for your personal cases through the website or in person (appointments can be made for meeting after class). A maximum number of cases may be enforced to ensure everyone is allowed a ‘live consultation’ for 2 cases at the seminar. For those without an instructor preference and want a quick diagnosis, you may choose our 24-Hour turnaround option. 1st FREE CASE: Each doctor may present one case at no charge for mentoring (includes initial diagnosis and progress reports) via Smilestream. This free case must be presented before the end of Seminar 4. (Must be a metal bracket case. An aligner case does not qualify for a free case) Once you submit your FREE CASE, you will receive an automatic US $200 credit on your Smilestream Store account. Progress Case Consulting (for follow-up questions): For a progress appointment to see how your case is progressing, (except for progress on your free case), expect a charge for instructor’s time. If it is just a small clarification point, or a more general question, the instructor may decide not to charge, however this is at the sole discretion of the instructor. You may schedule live progress appointments or submit online with the “Send to SmileStream Member” function. If charged, you will see the patient and instructor name on your invoice. Mentoring Service To get more extensive instructor support on your cases, please inquire about the mentor program. You will work with a mentor throughout your case to ensure your efficiency and success at the highest levels of POS. Fees vary among instructors. Instructor mentoring can be done online or live. With either option, you will submit the mentoring case via SmileStream and can send follow-up notes with images. With the online option, you will wait for the mentor to send back your case. With the live option, you will discuss in person during and after class appointment.

Online videos are a free resource for you as a current POS Student. Most students like this video option as it can be streamed online, be sped up or slowed down, and have quality images of the seminar and PowerPoint.

A graduation certificate will be presented to each candidate that completes the following requirements at the completion of the last seminar in the series. The graduation certificate proves your completion of Progressive’s Comprehensive 2-Year Orthodontic Training and commitment to providing quality orthodontics. Graduation does not give you an orthodontic specialty.

The graduation requirements from the basic Progressive Orthodontic Seminar program are: Take all the seminars either by live attendance, video, or virtual class training. All financial obligations must be current. Successfully complete the final exam (must pass with a 70% or higher) Present 2 cases you’ve started of any type at the final seminar (to be evaluated that the classroom material presented has been applied in the office).

You need to have a total of at least 30 cases started. In addition to the graduation requirements, you must show varied case experience in 10 different areas. At least one case must have been treated with headgear (any kind), at least 2 cases including mixed dentition treatment. Your exam and presentation must receive a distinction of 80% or higher. A special plaque is presented at the graduation. 25% discount on the first yearly Update Seminar is awarded

Total case starts during the seminar series exceeds 50 cases. In addition to the above requirements, case experience in 15 different case types. A special plaque is presented at the graduation dinner. 50% discount on the first yearly Update Seminar is awarded.

Dentofacial Orthodontics This is for doctors who continue their orthodontic education after completing the Comprehensive Program. Dentofacial Orthodontic Series helps you better understand how to transform patients’ dentofacial harmonies without invasive surgery. This series consists of 4 seminars, 4-days each. Master of Science in Specialized Orthodontics Graduates who want to earn a Master’s can apply to use their POS knowledge to get into a university MSc program that has recognized POS’ curriculum. Our graduates will be able to get a large academic credit and discount if they decide to pursue a university Master’s degree.
